During her visits Kathy noticed that a number of older boys were learning tailoring and that the home had acquired some treadle sewing machines. It occurred to her that if the boys could use their tailoring skills to sew some simple drawstring bags and cushion covers using beautiful Indian sari material then she could sell them on behalf of the boys on her return to Wiltshire. Although the boys were more used to stitching garments such as trousers and shirts and found it difficult to envisage a practical use for the bags or cushion covers, they embarked on the project with real enthusiasm and during their spare time made the items which Kathy sells on their behalf.
