Four lovely ladies ran for The Neem Tree Trust this year in aid of The Neem Tree Trust: Sheila Wall, Tina Vivian, Linda Ladner and Laura Kinzett, and the children we support in India cheered them on from 4,000 miles away, as they did last year!
In fact the boys were so inspired by our runners last year that whilst Kathy was staying at the home in November 2007, seven of them entered a mini-marathon race in the local town of Tirunelveli and ran 1 km in their bare feet with the assistance of their crutches. Here is photograph of them at the start of the race.
Because three of our runners from last year’s Bath Half Marathon race donated their medals to The Neem Tree Trust Kathy was able to present the medals to the boys who came First, Second and Third in the mini-marathon race.
This story really speaks of the connection the boys have to the local people here in the UK and how much they appreciate the support they receive.
